Who I am

My name is Esteban (He/They). Among other things, I am a psychotherapist, healing and wellness advocate, teacher, and writer living in Belmont, MA.

I experienced a nomadic upbringing in Europe before immigrating to the United States at the age of fifteen. After pursuing my undergraduate degree in Business Administration, I entered a career as a yoga and meditation instructor. In order to deepen and expand my ability to help others, I eventually decided to pursue a graduate program in Mental Health Counseling.

I was fortunate to enter formal spiritual practice in 2013, through Patanjali’s classical yoga system. I’ve been influenced by numerous methodologies and teachers along the way, and my path eventually led me to Buddhism, or Dharma. Since then, I’ve stabilized and found a spiritual home and refuge in the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. I primarily study and practice under the guidance and instruction of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, Justin Von Budjoss, and Tom Alden, applying his Open Mandala wellness methodology in my clinical work.

When I am not working, I can be found engaging in spiritual practice(s), enjoying fatherhood and coparenting, reading, making music, caring for my plants, making art, moving my body, resting, socializing, cooking, and pondering.
